Musical Input Needed

In case you haven't been able to learn this for yourself - or have absolutely no desire to - having a baby... rearranges things.  Not emotional things.  Not your life.  Yeah, I mean all that happens too, blah, blah.  I'm talking about your body.  Not to gross you out too much, but your BONES SPREAD during pregnancy.  Ugh.  And I think they enjoy all that extra room away from those other pesky bones and just decide to stay there.  I've read things that say in 18 months they'll eventually go back, but first of all I don't buy it, and second of all, I'll probably be pregnant again in 18 months, so it doesn't help me anyway.

As of today I weigh less than I did when I got pregnant, but thanks to the aforementioned bone thing and the fact that pregnancy weight isn't kind enough to distribute evenly, I'm still squeezing into things.  Also, my shoe size is more like an 8 and less like the 7 1/2 it used to be.

So I come to you with a request.  No, not gift certificates to the mall, although that would be awesome and my email address is listed under the Contact Me page. I need to reinvigorate my workout playlist.  It's pretty much the same it was 2 years ago when I got pregnant.   And, hey, I love me some Tootsie Roll as much as the next gal, but I'm getting bored.

So send me your workout favorites!  And remember, we're not going for quality here, music snobs needs not apply.  Send me all the cliche, embarrassing, get-your-ass-moving songs that you can think of.

I'm hitting the gym again on Thursday, so send 'em quick!

the cast recording of American Idiot...or just the Green Day Album. I have both playing when I work out. Also, a bit of Kanye, Lady GaGa, The Gossip, Scissor Sisters, I like Mika as well....

So I was perusing to see what I could find in terms of good workout playlist resources and I came across this website: http://www.inthegym.net/ - their "Pop" workout selections look pretty right on for what I was going to suggest: Kanye, Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Ludacris, J Lo (I'm serious), Damian Marley ("Welcome to Jamrock"), Rhianna, Katy Perry, Usher has a good new song. And here is a link for the last few weeks of Top 40 songs: http://www.at40.com/top-40, just click on the date! See, I'm not snobby!?:)

'Stronger' by Kanye West is what I always have to find on my ipod when I want to get off the treadmill - it really helps to push through the inner voice that says 'just get off'; Stevie Wonder; Beyonce; Taleb Kweli; "Bette Davis Eyes' came on the other night and that was a pleasant surprise - so much so that i was singing OUT LOUD on the treadmill in front of the hot trainer

You know you just want to listen to the Glee Soundtrack every second of every day, so I say just carry that over into your workout!

"Because We Can" by Fatboy Slim. Really, anything by Fatboy Slim. I also rock out to "Smack My Bitch Up" by the same artist.

At this point, when I hear about people getting pregnant for the second time, I think they're just showing off. I'm still trying for numero uno.

More Human than Human by White Zombie
and Negasonic Teenage Warhead by Monster Magnet. Also anything by Prodigy (Firestarter and Smack My Bitch Up come to mind).

"I Like Big Butts" by Sir Mix-A-Lot... I can't believe no one mentioned it, it's a classic! That, and it makes you feel good while working out that bouncy ass at the gym (well, it makes me feel good-ha!)

Plus, a little "Quiet Dog" by Mos Def ...

P.S. is it really fair to use the whole "bones"/old playlist thing as an excuse when the previous post is one for cookies? Clearly this needs a little looking into ;-) xo

Um, "SexyBack." Obviously.

And anything dance-y by Shakira...because frankly, listening to her makes me want to look like her. Yum.

Best series of comments ever. BTW - just to add on a different note, It was amazing to me how one tiny, thrown-off sentance in the middle of your blog could make me gasp with delight! Thanks for mentioning that you wanna get knocked up again soon!!! I LOVE that idea.
