If you've ever lived with me for any period of time (B, M in VT, Feather Nester) you know that I have a raging sugar addiction. Raging. The more pure, the better. I can rationalize this because I read once on a hypoglycemic support website that one of the main symptoms that hypoglycemics deal with is a craving for pure, unadulterated sugar. I have about a million other symptoms too, but that one is the one that people seem to notice.
When we were all in high school, my unadulterated sugar cravings took the form of eating Jello mix at Feather Nester's track meets, sitting in front of the TV with M from VT while we ate ice tea mix out of the can, or eating inhuman amounts of Peeps at Easter. I have since dropped the Jello habit, mostly dropped the ice tea habit (though not totally), but my addition to Peeps and all other Easter candy is Fierce, as Christian would say. (I even have a super cute Peep shirt that M sent me last year!)
Yellow peeps, regular jelly beans, Cadbury creme eggs, Cadbury caramel eggs.... Heaven!! Pure, delicious heaven. I'm sorry to tell you that when it comes to Easter candy I have absolutely no off switch. My workouts lately are doing nothing to advance the "wedding body" I'm going for and are simply staving off the "Easter Fat" that would inevitably ensue. I'm not kidding... it's a little disgusting. Every night before dinner I have one emergency Peep, just to hold me over. Then after dinner I have a minimum of four additional peeps, lots of jelly beans, and if I can sneak past B to get to the kitchen, a Cadbury egg.
This is from the girl who is famous for portion control! So anyway, on that note I'll leave you with a hysterical Peep-picture my friend sent me today called "Peep Show"...

I've been searching for this year's "peep treat" for you but nothing has really materialized. Maybe I'll find it this weekend. I think for your wedding you should have something old, something new, something borrowed, and something peep.
Never got into the peeps, but Cadbury creme eggs are my weakness.... I feel a slight tinge of bitterness that they've gotten smaller over the years--or have I just gotten bigger?
You'll Pilate that body into shape no matter what!
If Peeps were a man, I would marry him and have all of his babies. I truly believe that if people ate more Peeps, instead of going to war, we'd all just pogo-stick around for a few hours and then collapse in a happy heap.
I can only buy Peeps in the 5-pack though, because I will absolutely eat all 15 in the regular size pack the second I open it. Dang delicious sugar treats!
PS - LOVE that you need an "emergency Peep"!
Peeps are my favorite thing ever. On weight watchers they are a lot of points. Which makes me very sad. Then, one Sunday a couple weeks ago at Wegmans I found Sugar-Free peeps. They are not horrible. They are still not the same, but they are at least close! The whole package which includes 3 chicks are 1 point!
You should probably own this...

Other than Cadbury eggs, my favorite Easter binge goes to Sweet Tarts bunnies and chicks. They used to have eggs too and I liked those better because they were smaller, but now I have to make due. I can't resist them. In fact, I bought some for my roommate at Colgate, but ended up eating them before I could mail them out to her. Oops.
i guess i'm the odd woman out as i'd rahter be beaten than eat a peep. and cadbury creme eggs? no way. i was convinced as a child that they were actual raw eggs coated in chocolate, and i've never been able to eat one.
i'll stick to reese's peanut butter eggs because i believe you can never go wrong with a little pb&c.
the peep show picture is, however, one of the most hysterical things i've ever seen.
MY the peep story has created quite a responce. My self I love to dry them out and after a week they are nice and chewy! I have never been able to eat the cadbury eggs, now there mimi eggs that are solid cho. with crispy shell now there your talking :) I love the picture of the peeps. At least the Easter Bunny will know who's blog to go to so you all get the kind of candy you want. love Mom
