Rocks & Trains

If you found yourself wondering what the Scarlet family was doing every single night last week, the answer is this: watching curling. Researching curling. Learning the lingo to... curling. My husband is obsessed. I can't explain it, I can only encourage it. But his hatred of winter is well documented and if this means he's found something that will keep him slightly more sane, I'm all for it.

As luck would have it, our local Curling Club was having an open house to capitalize on all of the other people who were at home doing the exact same thing, so we went. The parking lot was shockingly full, I really thought we were going to be the only ones there. And the clientele was also shockingly young. I also thought that of the four other people that were sure to be there, we'd be younger by several decades.

So we went, got a little curling history (invented in Scotland, very popular sport for golfers during their off season) and B got to "throw some rocks." I'm pretty sure it sealed the deal and next November when curling season starts (it's a Nov - March season) we'll be handing in his application.

After that we scooted over to our nephew's first birthday party. A lovely train-themed party complete with gorgeous home made decorations. Here's a little eye candy for you party lovers.
