Snuggling baby animals

On Friday we took a family outing to a local farm where you can visit the baby animals for one week every spring.  Having Charlotte was an excellent excuse to go, but if we're being honest, it was for me.  So much so that before we walked into the barn I turned to B and said "OK, you have to hold Charlotte so my hands are totally free for snuggling!!"  I have a thing for baby animals.  Thanks to an incredibly kind employee, and visiting during the middle of the day instead of the weekend, we basically had a VIP experience.  I spent an hour just squealing with giddiness.  And again, I'm pretty sure Charlotte was there somewhere... in the background... probably with B.

This was the so-cute-I-might-actually-throw-up 2 week old baby Holstein suckling on my thumb like a pacifier.  I asked the guy if I was allowed to pet his head and the next thing I knew I was in the pen and he told me to give him my thumb, which he then immediately jammed into the calf's mouth.

I love black and white cows.  They're just so pretty.  And every time we drive by a farm I turn to B and tell him yet again that I'm really sad that cows aren't super down with people because I see their black and white spots and I just want to hug one. So being the human pacifier for one was a little bit of a dream come true.

Much like the baby Holstein, I asked if we could pet the baby goats and the next thing I knew we were sitting on a haystack with one on our lap.  Charlotte really loved petting him.  And my glee should be evident by the protruding veins in my neck from the over-smiling.

Gazing at the baby geese

Feeling very suspicious now that it's so close.

I've always found baby goats to be as cute as puppies. Just a little more... clompy. Glad you kids had fun...

I can't guarantee any baby animals, but the next time you're in Tennessee, I'll take you to the farm and you can pet all the fully grown cows and chickens you can get your hands on.

You look really cute in that baseball cap. Oh, yeah, and the kid and baby animals were cute, too. ;)

Ok, seriously, Scarlet, you gotta stop with the cuteness overload. I'm gonna need an insulin shot soon. It's frankly killin me.
